Dr. Wendy Schmitz MD, Vice President of Medical Care at Ohio’s Hospice™ shares how the Macy Catheter has become a standard of practice at their agency, replacing parenteral medication delivery in the majority of their patients. Dr. Schmitz will share results from a large survey of nurses at their agency looking at both the comparative effectiveness and comfort of the Macy Catheter vs subcutaneous and sublingual medication delivery. She will discuss medications used and presents six case studies utilizing the Macy method for severe symptom cases that were very difficult to control with other methods of medication delivery.
