Description:
A panel of hospice and palliative pharmacists will discuss how agencies have mitigated injectable medication shortages by utilizing the Macy Catheter. By doing this they also decreased costs, risks and other burdens related to the use of parenteral medications. The panel will share first-hand experience on how agencies adopted the technology, trained staff, and changed clinical practice and culture. They will share extensive anecdotal experience along with evidence from studies related to comparative efficacy, comfort, cost and ease of use of the Macy Catheter versus parenteral options.
