In this webinar, thought-leading managers of Hospice Inpatient Units will share how they’ve positively transformed care within their units. Objectives:

  1. At the end of this session the learner will be able to list 4 ways the Macy Catheter better meets the regulatory guidelines for care in the IPU vs SQ/IV.
  1. At the end of this session the learner will be able to describe the evidence base and theory on why bioavailability of medications via the Macy Catheter is superior to bioavailability of medications given subcutaneously at the end of life.
  1. At the end of this session the learner will be able to discuss at least one benefit of using the Macy Catheter vs IV/SQ for each of the following criteria; cost effectiveness, clinical effectiveness, nursing efficiency, infection control, medication shortages and comfort.
  1. At the end of this session the learner will be able to describe ways to help clinicians change practice from IV/SQ to the Macy Catheter.
