This webinar will describe how usage of a novel medication/fluids administration catheter can decrease hospital transfers and assist with the maintenance of greater occupancy levels. The presentation will explore various scenarios regarding condition changes within facilities that would not require hospital readmission, including medication and fluid delivery for dehydration, infection, seizure control, agitation, CHF, and pain episodes.
Objectives:
- By the end of this session, the participant will be able to demonstrate proper placement of medication and fluid delivery via the Macy Catheter.
- By the end of this session, the participant will be able to give four examples of condition changes that can be treated in facilities with a Macy Catheter and, therefore, often without IV or hospital transfer.
- By the end of this session, the participant will be able to describe how the Macy Catheter can decrease the care costs and improve operational efficiency.
