Objectives

1. At the end of this session, the participant will be able to list 5 morbidities associated with dehydration in Long Term Care.
2. At the end of this session, the participant will be able to describe a risk assessment tool for identifying residents at high risk for dehydration 
3. At the end of this session, the participant will be able to describe 5 risk factors for dehydration in the elderly.
4. At the end of this session, the participant will be able to verbalize an action plan for recognizing, preventing, and treating dehydration within Long Term Care facilities.
5. At the end of this session, the participant will be able to describe how proctoclysis can provide easy, comfortable, and safe rehydration when patients are not taking enough oral fluids to maintain adequate hydration.
